Exercise and Sport for all ages and abilities

We can provide and range of inclusive and adaptable sports activities for people of all ages and abilities.

Research tells us that it is actually more important that people become more active as they age, as this is when people traditionally decrease their activity levels and therefore long-term conditions can set in.

Maintaining an active lifestyle all through life has proven to increase independence and physical health, which can have an enormous impact on how people feel in themselves and what lies ahead.

Children and Young People

Our activities can provide exercise and stimulation to those who may not enjoy or partake in more mainstream sports.

Adults with Disabilities

This group of people have less access and opportunities to participate in sport and physical activity. We delivered Active Norfolk’s ‘On The Move’ project, which was funded by Sport England. Throughout this 3-year project, we supported most adult disability groups in Norfolk.

Older People / Intergenerational

Our intergenerational sport programme is an innovative way of improving the physical and mental health of older people living in care settings by introducing children and young people to play sports together. This has the added benefit of helping young people understand different generational issues.

For children and young people, this opportunity to play and experience an entirely different environment can have a number of positive impacts including confidence building, people skills, respect as well as the fitness and health benefits.

Often older people in care settings can become isolated and lose independence through lack of movement. Intergenerational activities, which are adapted for people living with various conditions, provide elderly people the chance to spend time with enthusiastic young people, which has proven to have an extremely positive impact on mental and physical health while reducing social isolation. Traditionally this service is delivered in care settings and we are able to coordinate the entire programme on behalf of care homes and schools/youth groups.
